FINALLY! A solution to unwanted interruptions when working from home. (And it’s affordable!)

While many of us continue to work from home, we are likely finding different types of interruptions coming up when we least expect—or need—them.

I’m not just talking about the sound of a TV in the background or a nearby toilet flushing while you are on the phone with the boss. It can be a spouse barging in or a family member or…the dog, all of whom urgently need your attention and of course, at the exact time of your weekly team Zoom meeting!

Well, here is a helpful strategy. To avoid those unwanted interruptions, try using the Bright Color-Coded Meeting System. It’s easy to deploy. It’ll get everyone’s attention. And, it’s cheap!

Here’s how you can immediately put it to use: Get three stickers – one red, one yellow, and one green. They are meant to be posted so all can see them – on your desk or just outside your work area – or on the back of your chair. You might want to use colored Post-It's and place them outside your door. If you don't have a door, try using a bulletin board or an available wall space to simply indicate to other family members what's happening in your world.

When the red sign is posted, it means you’re in a meeting and no interruptions will be tolerated – other than real emergencies, of course. The yellow sign signifies that you’re receptive to being interrupted, but approach cautiously. And a green sign means that others are welcome to come in and, yes, interrupt.  As you might have surmised this color-coding system works for everyone—except the dog, of course.

So, get started immediately, before family members, including your pets, continue getting spoiled by having you around all the time. The Bright Color-Coded Meeting System! It will save time, money, and angst from on-the-job interruptions.
