Happy Thanksgiving - You Deserve It!

This Thanksgiving many of us are desperately trying to figure out how to work around all the COVID restrictions coming from our various state Governors and the CDC. This is a family day for Americans and it’s hard seeing it become an event restricted by mandate.

That said, it’s important to keep in mind that however you work out your Thanksgiving arrangements this year, be sure health and safety is your #1 priority. Once that’s resolved, ask yourself what the #1 important thing is you want to have happen that will make your Thanksgiving special and meaningful for you and those who are sharing the day with you.

That one thing you identify will become your “shining object” to look forward to and experience. It needs to be something within your control and doesn’t have to be something big, like shopping for a new bed or buying exercise equipment. It can be just a small, but rewarding thing, such as, sleeping in that morning, contacting your friends remotely, a chocolate sundae or  just taking the time to review what you are thankful for.

Or you may elect to engage in a fun activity with your spouse or children. Satisfaction for you would be to engage in whatever activity they select!!! Then again, you may want to give yourself permission to eat whatever you want for the day.  This is especially appealing if you have been adhering to a strict diet.   For me, it's going to be in the joy of eating the dressing from the turkey that I am going to make – I’d better do a good job because I eat this only once a year!!!

Take all quality time you need to think about what it is you really want  because it is only one day and, like in every ad you hear these days, “YOU DESERVE IT!” That way you operate with no regrets!!!
